Bulgarian Black Sea Coast: Albena hotels close due to lack of tourists – Novinite.com

The Albene resort complex began the gradual closure of hotels. The reason is the decline in the number of tourists after the suspension of charter flights and Germany has declared our northern Black Sea coast a dangerous destination.

The fact that tourists to the resort are mostly Bulgarians and Romanians is also reflected, and their preferred summer vacation period is from mid-July to mid-July.

The epidemic situation in the complex is calm, so far there are no data on infected tourists.

Due to the decrease in the number of tourists and the reservations made, the gradual closure of hotels has already started. Last week, the guests of the Albene complex were 8,000, this week they are already around 6,500, said the director of the complex Albene Hristo Penev on BNR.

They mainly come from Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. Compared to data for August 2019, the number of vacationers in the resort is half that, and on an annual basis – for the season, they are only 30% compared to 2019.

According to Hristo Penev, so far there are data on contact persons for the novel coronavirus infection among the staff, as they have terminated their duties, but no positive cases of tourists have been recorded. / Trud Newspaper
