The map of sand dunes along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast will be updated – Novinite.com

Bulgarian Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova said on June 27 that together with the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolai Nankov, they sent a request two weeks ago to the Geodesy Agency, Cartography and cadastre request an update of the specialized map for sand dunes along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, according to BNT.

Such a spatial analysis was produced in 2011-2012 but the specialized map did not come into effect due to appeals, Angelkova said.

She explained that due to natural processes, there are already changes in the dune fields. The great flood of 2013 – 2014, especially in the south Black Sea coast, has led to the destruction of a large part of the dunes, and on the other hand the experts say that there are dunes which are reorganizing according to new natural processes.

The map will probably be ready for the next summer season.

In response to a question about whether beach towels can disturb the dunes, as a dealer of Nessebar South Beach supports, Angelkova said she was surprised by such a question. The placement of tents, towels and the human impact on the dunes bother them, she added.

According to her, the concession holder of this beach is one of the few to scrupulously respect its commitments to the sand dunes and placed signs indicating where the dunes are and that no one should lie on them. No double standards should be applied, she added.
